Actress Criticizes Journalist After Controversial Interview

OLOI TEAM

The recent interview of MEP Faidias Panayiotou with journalist Yiannis Kareklas stirred up strong reactions, mostly negative, from viewers online. Many felt the journalist crossed the line of journalistic ethics by trying to belittle his guest.

Among the critics was actress Eleni Sidera, who shared her thoughts bluntly, “I also watched the infamous interview of Faidias Panayiotou with Yiannis Kareklas. I couldn’t miss it. Here’s my take: Journalism has basic rules: objectivity, respect, and no bias. In the interview, Kareklas did the opposite: he showed toxic masculinity, ageism, elitism, and repeated stereotypes. It wasn’t journalism; it was an attempt to mock, and with a ‘I’ve got you in my pocket’ attitude, it likely backfired.”

The actress pointed out that arrogance and stereotypes on TV don’t go unnoticed. The audience’s reaction shows that viewers pay attention and want respect and balance in journalism.
