The Cyprus Police are looking into a serious incident involving violence by a group of youths. This follows a complaint from a 31-year-old who was attacked on Friday night in the Erimi area of Limassol.
The complainant said it all began when he accidentally drove into a dead-end street where about 10 to 15 youths were hanging out. His arrival seemed to upset them, leading to a heated argument. The situation got worse when one of the youths threw a firecracker in front of his car, trying to scare him. The 31-year-old attempted to leave, but the youths didn’t stop there. Instead, they chased him and started throwing stones at his car, turning the street into a battleground.
In fear for his safety, the driver jumped out of his car and ran away, quickly seeking help from the police. Later, officers took him back to the scene, where they found his car badly damaged from the attack. The damage shows just how severe the incident was and how out of control the youths acted.
The case is still being investigated, and this incident raises serious concerns about group delinquency and unchecked violence among youths who act without fear of consequences.
