The non-profit organization Atheras Peoples & Cultures invites children and adults to a magical adventure of imagination and music, presenting its new production titled «Furry Tails: Traveling with the Animals of the World». This is an original performance that combines storytelling, live music, and contemporary visual art, offering an experience for the whole family.
The performances will take place on the weekend after Christmas, in Nicosia and Limassol, giving the audience a chance to enjoy a different cultural proposal for the festive days.
The Story
The plot unfolds in a zoo, where an unexpected friendship is born between two completely opposite characters: an anxious and overly organized Octopus, who wants to control everything, and a carefree Rabbit, who views life with optimism and calm. Disappointed by the routine of confinement, they decide to escape and discover the world as it truly is.
Their journey takes them from land to sea and back, where they meet animals in their natural environment, discovering new ways of living, thinking, and coexisting.
The Stage Experience
The «Furry Tails» is a special musical storytelling performance, where five musicians and two performers alternate in the roles of narrator and singer. Through live narration and original songs —written specifically for the show— they bring to life the stories and characters that the heroes encounter on their journey.
The performance is accompanied by video art projections, which replace traditional sets and act as “windows” into different landscapes and worlds, transporting viewers to each stop of the journey.
The Messages of the Performance
Using humor, music, and adventure as vehicles, the work touches on essential issues such as freedom, respect for the environment, and the need to step away from screens and reconnect with nature and people around us.
The performance is aimed at children aged 5 to 12 years old, as well as parents seeking quality cultural experiences to share with their children.
