Georgia Christofi, 42, was in Larnaca General Hospital for a scheduled hysterectomy. Sadly, she passed away today, leaving her family and loved ones heartbroken. On January 18, she was found unconscious in the hospital’s bathroom after suffering a brain hemorrhage. She remained in the Intensive Care Unit until her death.

Her family has filed a complaint against the hospital. They have serious concerns about her care and are asking for a full investigation into what happened. The case has been quickly sent to the State Health Services Organization (OKYPY) to find out what led to her tragic death.

The Minister of Health, Neofytos Charalambides, stated that the investigation will be thorough and detailed. They want to uncover every part of the case to ensure patient safety in the future. According to a letter from her family to Larnaca General Hospital, Georgia was admitted on January 15 for her scheduled procedure.

Reportedly, Georgia tried to call for help by ringing the bell to go to the bathroom but received no response from the staff. So, she got up on her own, fell, and according to her family, this caused the brain hemorrhage that led to her critical condition and eventual death.

The family claims that on January 17, Georgia asked medical staff not to remove her catheter because she had mobility issues, but they ignored her request. That same day, she tried to call for help again by ringing the bell but got no response. As a result, she got up on her own, fell, and according to her family, this led to the brain hemorrhage that ultimately put her in critical condition and resulted in her death. They are demanding a full investigation into her care conditions, emphasizing how her request for safety and assistance was handled.
