The police in Limassol have arrested a 50-year-old man for allegedly scamming €58,400.
A 70-year-old victim reported that he gave this money to the suspect between June 2023 and January 2026. The money was meant for buying a house in the Limassol area. However, the property transfer never happened.
Investigations showed that the property actually belongs to someone else and is not for sale. This led to an arrest warrant for the 50-year-old.
The suspect was arrested yesterday in Nicosia. He appeared today in the Limassol District Court, which ordered him to be held for five days while the Limassol CID continues its investigation.
