A woman from Paphos reported to the police that in September 2025, she followed an online advertisement featuring a person promoting a supposed government investment platform.
After creating an account through the advertisement’s link, unknown individuals contacted her and informed her that they would allegedly guide her in every investment.
The 71-year-old, after being convinced that her investment had yielded profit, transferred a total amount of approximately €6,500 to a bank account indicated to her on two different occasions.
Subsequently, when she attempted to withdraw her money, she realized she had fallen victim to fraud.
