Epiphany Celebrations in Occupied Agia Triada: The Light That Never Fades
On Epiphany, a service will take place in the occupied Agia Triada. Bishop Christoforos of Karpasia will lead it from 07:45 to 10:30, as shared by the Community Council of Agia Triada.
After the service, the blessing of the waters will happen at the beautiful cove of Agios Thyrsos. It’s a moment full of spiritual energy and tradition.
If many people join, buses will be arranged to transport everyone.

Agia Triada is an occupied village in the Famagusta district, in Karpasia. It sits 140 meters above sea level, about 3 kilometers from Yialousa and around 18 kilometers from Rizokarpaso. According to the Great Cypriot Encyclopedia, Agia Triada had a population of 1,212 in 1973, just before the Turkish invasion. After the tragic summer of 1974, many Greek Cypriot residents were left trapped in Agia Triada.
Every year, the light of Epiphany shines on the lovely bay of Agios Thyrsos again. It stands as a silent promise that memories and traditions will never fade away.
