Police night operations have once again uncovered many violations and led to several arrests.
During these checks, one person was arrested for ignoring a court order. Another was taken in for assaulting a police officer, being drunk, causing a disturbance, and resisting arrest. Four people were arrested for staying illegally in the Republic of Cyprus. One more was caught with illegal drugs and stolen property. Two drivers were arrested for refusing to take an alcohol test and for driving under the influence of drugs.
That same night, 40 places were inspected, leading to eight complaints about offenses like operating without licenses, selling alcohol without permits, and smoking in public.
From traffic checks, there were over 248 complaints about different traffic violations. Twenty-seven people were caught driving under the influence of alcohol, and four tested positive for drugs. Six vehicles were also impounded during the investigation into traffic offenses.
