Today, Sunday (4/1), journalist Giorgos Papadakis had a heart attack. An ambulance from EKAB picked him up in Kolonaki and rushed him to Laiko Hospital, where he sadly passed away.
The medical team was ready and provided him with the care he needed. Giorgos Papadakis was a key figure in Greek television, known for his long career with ANT1. Since 1991, he hosted the morning news show “Kalimera Ellada,” making a mark in television journalism.
In April 2025, he announced he would leave the show after 34 years. He made this announcement during an anniversary broadcast, surrounded by colleagues who shared his journey. He said he leaves “the field open” for ANT1’s future of the program.
