A yellow warning for strong to severe winds is out for today, Friday, from the Cyprus Meteorological Department. Early snow has started to cover Troodos, giving it a winter vibe in the mountains.
The department says southwest to northwest winds will blow at 6 to 7 Beaufort, locally hitting 7 Beaufort. Wind gusts could reach 8 Beaufort, which means stormy conditions. Snowfall began early this morning, covering Troodos in white and creating a true winter wonderland in the mountains.
The warning lasts from 08:00 AM until 10:00 PM.
According to Kitasweather, the temperature at Jubilee Hotel Troodos is about 0 degrees Celsius. Expect intermittent snowfall with accumulation today, and some areas may see heavy snowfall.
