The search by the Police and Civil Defense for the missing 56-year-old Russian businessman has been paused today. He has been missing since January 7.

Officials say heavy rain in the Limassol area made it too difficult to continue the search. They plan to start again tomorrow morning.

Before the pause, strong police teams, the Limassol Search and Rescue Department, volunteers, a helicopter, and a drone were all part of the search. Most efforts were focused on western Limassol, especially in Pissouri, where the last signal from his mobile phone was found.

Reports show that searches also took place yesterday, Saturday, in a rough and steep area of Pissouri. This was coordinated by Michalis Mouskallis, the Head of Search and Rescue in Limassol.

The 56-year-old’s disappearance was reported by his employee. She told the Police he wasn’t answering her calls. She also shared details about what he was wearing when she last saw him.

Vladislav Baumgertner is 56 years old, about 1.90 meters tall, slim, and has gray hair. On the day he went missing, he was wearing black shorts and a black short-sleeved shirt. He has been missing from his home in Limassol since 07/01/2026.

According to foreign media, this missing person had previously caught the attention of Russian authorities.
