The Troodos Police urge drivers to exercise increased caution due to weather conditions, as roads in various areas remain wet and icy.
Police spokesperson Panagiota Georgiou noted that many drivers attempt to ascend the mountains with unsuitable vehicles, leading to immobilization and traffic issues. “Last night, ten vehicles had to turn back despite police efforts to assist,” she stated.
Additionally, the police warn drivers not to enter ski slopes, as this causes damage and ruins the appearance of the ski center. It is also emphasized that vehicles should not be parked in prohibited areas and pedestrians should avoid roads leading to Troodos. Throughout the weekend, special police operations will be in place for driver safety and smooth traffic flow in the area.
