Russian Businessman: Death of 56-Year-Old in Limassol Still Unclear

The cause of death for the man found at Avdimou – Paramali beach is still unknown.

The body will undergo thorough lab tests, including toxicology and histopathology. It is believed to belong to 56-year-old Russian businessman Vladislav Baumgertner. A citizen discovered the body on Wednesday afternoon (14/1) in the Avdimou – Paramali area. The body was in advanced decomposition and without clothing, suggesting it may have come from the sea.

An autopsy was done today, Thursday, but the cause of death is still unclear. Samples are being collected for lab tests, including toxicology and histopathology. DNA analysis is also underway to confirm the identity. Authorities were alerted on January 10, after the businessman went missing on January 7. According to Omega’s report, he was reportedly seen alive on January 8, a day after the missing person report was filed. Investigators are focusing on the Pissouri area, where his phone last pinged.

Meanwhile, it seems that data from the businessman’s computer is being reviewed, which might help clarify what happened. The investigation is ongoing.
