A violent incident happened at a secondary school in Larnaca. A 12.5-year-old student reportedly punched his teacher in the stomach after being reprimanded.
This took place on January 14 and is now under police investigation, along with the Ministry of Education and Welfare Services. Dimitris Taliadoros, the president of the teachers’ union, said he talked to the student’s parents. He called the behavior “unacceptable” and “inappropriate.” He highlighted the need for the student to get psychological support and for quick action from the Ministry of Education. “Even if the teacher had been physical, the attack is not justified,” Mr. Taliadoros emphasized.
