The recent dust that affected daily life is slowly fading away, bringing relief to the air.
According to Kitas Weather, in western Cyprus – Paphos, Limassol, and the mountains – the dust levels have dropped a lot. Air quality is now at the green level, meaning the air is clean and safe.
In eastern Cyprus (Nicosia, Larnaca, Famagusta) dust levels are still high, especially in Larnaca and Famagusta. Here, PM10 levels are at orange and red.
Meteorological forecasts say that in a few hours, the dust will clear from these areas too, greatly improving air quality.
The dust had caused issues for many people, especially those with breathing problems, the elderly, and kids. Authorities warned everyone to be careful and advised vulnerable groups to limit outdoor activities. The decrease in dust is a big relief after days of poor visibility and movement challenges in both cities and rural areas.
