Paris is one of those cities you don’t just visit — you live it. It’s not a place for a checklist. It’s a city for rhythm, walking, and taking breaks. Our trip happened in 2024, and we decided to explore it mostly on foot — the best choice we made.

The city is laid out in circles — like a snail. As you walk, neighborhoods, parks, avenues, and monuments appear. That’s where our little travel tradition started: street photographers take spontaneous shots and give them to you for a small donation. Since then, we’ve been hunting them down in every European city.
Walking Paris — The city reveals itself step by step
The first thing you notice is that Paris invites you to walk. Wide avenues, symmetrical buildings, cafes on every corner, and small parks between museums and monuments. No need to rush — in fact, the slower you go, the more you see.
It’s a city to get a bit lost in — and enjoy it.
Facts:
- The modern look of Paris was mainly designed in the 19th century by Baron Haussmann.
- The large avenues were made for light, air — and also for controlling the city.
- Most central attractions are within walking distance.
Eiffel Tower — The moment when the city becomes emotion
You see it from afar many times before getting close — but when you’re underneath it, you feel its size. And when night falls and it starts sparkling with lights, the mood changes completely. People stop, look, and smile.
It’s not a cliché — it’s an experience.

- Built in 1889 for the World’s Fair.
- Height: ~330 meters with the antenna.
- Originally had a 20-year permit — it was meant to be torn down.
- Now it’s one of the most visited monuments in the world.
Seine Cruise — Relaxation with history
We took a short cruise on the Seine, and it was so relaxing. After all that walking, you sit back, travel slowly, and watch the city drift by.

- The Seine is about 777 km long.
- Its banks in central Paris are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
- Over 30 historic bridges cross it within the city.
Angelina — The famous “melted” chocolate
We visited Angelina for its famous hot chocolate — and yes, it’s more than just chocolate. It’s a mix of different melted chocolates, thick and rich — almost something you eat instead of drink.
Yes, there was a line — about 15 minutes — but it moved quickly. Inside is so elegant that it feels like stepping into another era — think Bridgerton vibes.

- A favorite spot for artists and fashion designers.
- The signature drink is called “L’Africain”.
- Considered one of the most famous chocolates worldwide.
Louvre & Mona Lisa — Among thousands of works
Of course, we went to the Louvre to see Mona Lisa. Lots of people, small painting — but a big moment. The museum itself is so vast that if you don’t have a plan, you’ll get tired quickly.
- The Louvre is the largest art museum in the world.
- It was a royal palace before becoming a museum.
- Mona Lisa was stolen in 1911 and found two years later.
- The glass pyramid was added in 1989.
Versailles — And then… the Hall of Mirrors
You walk through thinking “there can’t be more” — but there is. The room with mirrors was our favorite — truly a wow moment. Light, reflection, gold — pure royal display.

At Sacré-Cœur we placed a love lock – such a romantic moment.

and people sitting on steps just enjoying life.

>Painters’ Square – Live art before your eyes

>We went at noon.
The square was full
of easels,
half-finished portraits,
and painters watching you with their “artistic eye.”
We didn’t get a portrait done –
but if your budget allows,
it’s worth it.
The designs were truly amazing.
Not a tourist trap – it’s live creation.
