The management of Aris shared their shock over a disturbing incident that happened on Saturday (07/02). Tornike Aphtsiauri, the coach of Aris’s U12 team, was violently attacked by a player’s father from the other team.

“The Aris Limassol family is appalled by the shocking event that took place today. Our U12 team coach, Tornike Aphtsiauri, was brutally beaten by a player’s father during a developmental league match, which led to his hospitalization.
Aris Limassol wants to make it clear that we will not accept violence in any form. We must take all necessary steps to keep football a sport of fair play and ensure that violence has no place in it.
With this in mind, we will file a complaint against the suspect with the police and pursue all legal actions for his proper punishment.
We also urge the Cyprus Football Association to address this incident and take all necessary actions to prevent similar events in the future. This will help protect the well-being of professionals in the field and maintain children’s love for the sport.”
