Nicosia authorities were on high alert on Monday afternoon, February 9, after a serious incident injured a 21-year-old.
The police reported that the young man went with a friend to meet five people to settle some money issues. During their talk, things got heated and an argument broke out. Under circumstances still being looked into, one person allegedly attacked the 21-year-old, injuring his neck with a sharp object, while another person was hit on the nose.
The injured were taken to Nicosia General Hospital. The 21-year-old had surgery and is still in the hospital. His condition is stable and not life-threatening. The Nicosia CID is investigating the case as an attempted murder, and they are working to fully understand what happened.
