Eurovision Song Contest 2026: Akylas and ‘Ferto’ will represent Greece in Vienna
Akylas won ‘Sing for Greece 2026’ and will represent Greece at this year’s Eurovision in Vienna, Austria. His song, ‘Ferto’, stood out and earned him a spot in the European song contest.
The national final aired live on ERT on Sunday evening, February 15, with 14 artists competing for the top prize. The final result came from a mix of votes: 50% public, 25% Greek jury, and 25% international jury, keeping everyone on edge until the announcement.
Akylas was seen as a strong favorite early on and proved the predictions right, consistently ranking high in betting forecasts throughout the process.
‘Ferto’ caught attention from the first semi-final, easily moving on to the grand final. With its modern sound, strong stage presence, and energetic vibe, his performance was full of rhythm and excitement, which both the audience and juries seemed to love.
My Personal Opinion ✍🏻
While ‘Ferto’ is a good song with energy, it wasn’t my top choice. I think ‘Jalla’ was an amazing piece with a unique identity that made an impact right away.
This doesn’t mean ‘Ferto’ can’t shine on the Eurovision stage — it just wasn’t the song that really stood out for me.
