Another road accident adds to the long list of tragedies on Cypriot roads, reminding us how fragile life is. A fatal crash early this morning on Agia Thekla Avenue in Sotira took the life of 19-year-old Christina Achilleos.
According to initial reports from the Police, around 01:30, a car driven by a 19-year-old, with a 20-year-old passenger and two 19-year-old female passengers in the back, went off course and hit a concrete reservoir wall. The exact details of the accident are still under investigation.
Christina Achilleos died from her injuries, while the driver and front passenger were hurt and taken to Famagusta General Hospital and later to Larnaca General Hospital for more tests. The second 19-year-old female passenger, who was in serious condition, was moved to Nicosia General Hospital for treatment. Famagusta Traffic Police are investigating to find out what caused this tragedy that has left the family, friends, and local community of Sotira in mourning.
