Former Apollon player Christos Iosifidis, who is the twin brother of another former star, Giorgos Iosifidis, shared his thoughts on a Capital television program yesterday. He mentioned that their team won’t reach the levels of APOEL and Anorthosis.
This is due to the debts that have been holding them back for the past 1-2 years, making it hard to set high goals.
Iosifidis specifically pointed out: “I don’t have inside info, but from what I see, Krek’s involvement is collapsing. Nikos Kirzis showed this summer that he wants to gradually hand over management to someone else. If no one else steps up, I don’t think Kirzis will leave Apollon in a tough spot.”

Nikos Kirzis has made many mistakes during his 13 years leading Apollon’s football team. His financial situation, along with his family’s long ties to the club, acts as a “guarantee” that the team will stay financially stable unless an outside solution comes along.
