A new scandal is shaking the prisons and surprising everyone. Once, everything happening in our correctional facility, which even made it to Netflix and got great reviews, was seen differently. Now, it’s all about the scandals behind bars. Of course, there could be political motives at play.

However, what we heard today might not be news to some. These were once just rumors and gossip inside the prisons that everyone kept quiet about. Even the guards couldn’t say anything; such revelations could cost them their jobs.
If we set aside the new scandal and look at past incidents, we see that rumors about drugs, phones, and special treatment are slowly coming to light. One side connects with the other; some rumors are confirmed, painting prisons as places of shady dealings. The news from the Central Prisons sparked a lot of reactions. Today, guards feel unsafe in our correctional facility. Why? Maybe corruption starts there. Perhaps some want this situation to continue.
We, on the outside, never fully supported any administration in the prisons or the extreme rights prisoners had. Yes, they have rights because they are human too. But for a while, things got out of hand. Not everything was perfect. And it was covered with a shiny facade.
The events are good; so are various gatherings for humanitarian reasons. My principle is that when something seems too good and shines too brightly, something is off. Call me strict or say I only focus on the negative. No. Someone who brags about bringing change is either a dreamer or trying to fool others – and maybe themselves. The new scandal looks like it will affect us while more issues may surface… if allowed…
The concern is that worse things might come out publicly, like videos, photos, and other evidence some people have. Then we will see who shines brighter… like a star.
