Leventis Gallery Hosts Festive Christmas Events

The Leventis Gallery is getting into the holiday spirit this Christmas with a special Christmas program that mixes art, history, and festive fun.

On Saturday, December 6, 2025, visitors can explore the gallery’s collections through themed tours and stories that showcase the magic of the holidays (and more) through art. Plus, enjoy live unique musical performances!

“Taste the Art”

This is a multi-sensory experience featuring works from the Paris Collection. An “exhibition within an exhibition” invites visitors to “add flavor” (and layers) to how they view artworks.

In each room of the Paris Collection, selected pieces are paired with different flavors for attendees to sample. Your senses of sight, smell, and taste will come alive! Visitors will see how their eyes are never neutral and how taste shapes their art experience.

“Christoforos Savva: Simple – Complex – Invisible: An Unknown Archive”

The new temporary exhibition at the Leventis Gallery reveals a valuable and previously unknown archive of Christoforos Savva (1924-1968). He was an artist who opened new paths in modern Cypriot art and linked local creativity with major international movements. The archive includes works, sketches, photos, and personal notes, shedding light on his creative journey and revealing new aspects of his work.

“The Nutcracker and the Music Guardians” (for children aged 5–8)

The magic of The Nutcracker comes alive in a unique educational concert inspired by Mary Engelbreit’s version. This beloved musical fairy tale takes children on a creative journey into music, where they discover rhythm, melody, and emotions.

As the story unfolds, both young and old listeners become active participants. They take on roles in famous musical pieces like “The March and Battle,” “The Waltz of Flowers,” as well as Chinese and Russian dances. They also sing, play percussion instruments like drums and bells, melodic instruments like kazoo, and move creatively with scarves and ribbons.</p
