This morning, we shared news about our former Technical Director, Jesper Jansson. The Dispute Resolution Committee of the Cyprus Football Association (CFA) cleared him, ordering Omonia to pay 300,000 euros to him.
Our sources say Omonia won’t just accept this. They plan to appeal the decision, which they can do.
Omonia has 21 days to file an appeal. We hear they’ve already started the process to take their case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
Here’s the decision:
The CFA’s Committee ruled on Jesper Jansson’s claim against Omonia Football Ltd for wrongful termination of his contract.
The CFA Committee found that his Employment Agreement was ended unlawfully. So, Omonia Football Ltd must pay him:
15,000 euros for his salary in January 2024.
283,000 euros as compensation.
2,310 euros for legal costs.
Omonia Football Ltd has 30 days to make these payments and can appeal within 21 days at CAS.
Jesper Jansson was represented by lawyer Christos M. Triantafyllidis during the CFA proceedings.
