With over 25 solo exhibitions in Cyprus and many shows abroad – from Israel and Athens to London, Moscow, and Malta – Antonis Zenios is a key figure in Cypriot art.

The talented Cypriot painter and sculptor Antonis Zenios will showcase his works at an auction. This event will take place at the Cultural Center of Paralimni Town Hall on Thursday, December 12, 2025, at 18:30. The exhibition is titled “Beautiful and Strange Homeland”. The Mayor of Paralimni, Mr. George Nikolettos, is supporting the event. Part of the proceeds will go to the Association of Parents and Friends of Children with Special Needs “Lighthouse of Life”, blending art with a good cause.

“My painting helps me express emotions and experiences that have shaped me,” says the artist. He draws inspiration from nature, the sea, rocks, love, Greek mythology, and the female body. “In my space, I create both paintings and sculptures using clay, wood, stone, sand, and metal. Sculpture adds another layer to my creativity; I love them both equally,” he explains.

His works often blend both styles, creating unique pieces that reflect nature and daily life. “Inspiration strikes when I feel strong emotions – joy, pain, or passion. Images form in my mind as a complete work that I then paint on canvas,” he shares.

Even without formal training, Antonis learned from art books and manuals. He was influenced by Dali’s surrealism, especially in his early works. “I paint what speaks to my soul – whether it’s feelings or memories,” he says. He believes his art should bring peace to viewers. “Art is more than just a canvas; it connects with your soul and takes you on a calming journey.”

The auction in Paralimni is a great chance for collectors and the public to own a piece of this experience. “It matters to me that my works find people who will cherish them. Each piece has its own story, and I hope it continues to resonate with those who see it,” he concludes.

Antonis Zenios was born in Ormideia in 1957 and showed artistic talent from a young age. He fully dedicated himself to painting and sculpture, creating works that still inspire people today through this auction that opens his art to everyone.
