Italian sports journalist Nicolo Schira shared that a Pafos scout was in Genoa last Sunday (07/12). They watched Ioannou play for Sampdoria against Carrarese, where Sampdoria won 3-2.
In that game, the left-footed player played the whole match as a left full-back in a 3-5-2 setup and got a yellow card.
Considering his talent and Pafos’ aim to boost their team with top Cypriot players, the next step is to make a formal offer to Sampdoria, his current club.
