Scammers ask for ‘Christmas tip’ for waste collection
Every holiday season, someone might knock on our door asking for a tip for waste collection. Many of us give, knowing how hard this job can be.
But the Nicosia Municipality warns that some people are pretending to be municipal workers. They are asking for Christmas tips and taking advantage of the holiday spirit. The Municipality says these people have no ties to them and are just trying to make money off the festive season.
If you encounter this, please don’t give in to their requests. Report these incidents to the Nicosia Municipality at 22797000 or to the Police.
