Giorgos Mazonakis proved once again that style is not just appearance, but a statement. On The Voice of Greece, he appeared wearing a unique silk tie, created by Cypriot designer Michalis Pantelidis, inspired by a Roman glass exhibit from the collection of the Pierides Museum – Cultural Foundation of the Bank of Cyprus.
The styling of the appearance was curated by Konstantinos Chamberis.The tie titled Silvered Silence draws its inspiration from a Roman glass cup from the period 50 BC – 395 AD., which is a characteristic example of a utilitarian object of the era.
The exhibit is distinguished by its hemispherical body, slanted shoulder, and embossed ridges on its exterior surface, elements that are translated into contemporary artistic language through the silk design of the tie.
This particular creation captures the discreet shine and simple elegance of ancient glass, highlighting how archaeological heritage can serve as an inspiration for modern design.
The artist’s appearance on a widely broadcasted music program acts as a bridge between the museum space and the present, showcasing the creative dialogue between cultural heritage, art, and contemporary aesthetics.
