On Tuesday (16/12), it was announced that Hernán Losada will take over as coach of Apollon, replacing Sofronis Avgousti. The Argentine coach is set to arrive on the island soon to finalize the deal and sign the contract, as there’s already a verbal agreement with the Limassol team.
Argentine journalist César Luis Merlo reports that his contract will last until the end of the season (June 2026), with an option to extend for another year.
Once he signs and the official announcement is made, Losada will get straight to work. He’ll tour the training facilities and meet the ‘blue and whites’ players in person.
His aim is to boost Apollon’s performance in the league and improve their standings. He also wants to lead the team to success in the cup competition, where Limassol hopes to celebrate its 10th victory in Cyprus football’s second-tier title history.
