AEL: A former player and coach shares advice on patience…
Christos Charalambous understands the fans’ feelings and how AEL works.
He began in the youth teams, then studied in Greece, and returned to wear the blue and yellow jersey. He was an assistant to Kerkez for four years and was head coach for a few months two to three years ago.
On a Capital television show Tuesday night (16/12), he pointed out that AEL is a team of extremes. He said, “One week the fans are thrilled, and after a loss, they think everyone on the team is useless.”
He urged fans to be patient as they see changes and new hires in the football department.
“I mean coach Martins, along with Damahou and Thymios Agathokleous, who were recently announced. More money will need to be spent. These changes need 1-2 years to show results. Other teams have reached higher levels recently.”
Christos Charalambous worked at Omonia 29th May until a week ago. He was let go last Tuesday (9/12).
