This morning at 7:30, workers at Larnaca port started a spontaneous strike due to mice and serious safety issues.
Twenty-five employees from the Larnaca Development Company, who handle the port’s operations, protested. They highlighted poor working conditions, lack of hygiene, and safety measures. They want immediate changes.

The workers pointed out that rodents pose health risks and disrupt port operations. A port without safety is simply unacceptable — now or in the past.

As reported by Dialogos, these workers are former employees of Kition Ocean Holdings. They moved to the Larnaca Development Company after an agreement with the government. This followed the end of the port and marina concession contract in May 2024 and Kition’s exit from both areas.
