The Grants and Allowances Service (GAS) of the Ministry of Finance has finished scoring student grant applications. This follows the State Student Welfare Law from 2015 to 2022.
According to the announcement, student grants will go directly into the bank accounts provided by beneficiaries during their application. These accounts are recorded in the GAS system. No extra documents are needed to receive the grants.
You can find the list of beneficiaries, along with their application numbers and grant amounts, on the official Grants and Allowances Service website. The living allowance ranges from 500 to 1,800 euros, based on points each student earns. The meal allowance is 1,092 euros, and the airfare allowance increased from 200 to 300 euros after a request from student groups. First-year students also get a special allowance of 500 euros.
The living allowance helps cover students’ daily expenses away from home, while the meal allowance helps with food costs at restaurants or university canteens. The airfare allowance is for students studying outside Cyprus and increased from €200 to €300 due to requests from student groups.
