Four OMONIA footballers, who were on the team last season but didn’t shine for various reasons, are really stepping up this year. Under Henning Berg’s coaching, they have not only improved but also become key players in the game plan.
Leading the way is Evandro. The Brazilian midfielder, who switched between starting and sitting on the bench last year, has fully showcased his skills this season. He controls the pace, connects the lines, and adds creativity to OMONIA’s play, acting as the team’s strategic ‘brain’.
Giannis Masouras is also having a great season. The 29-year-old right-back is enjoying the best year of his career, earning a starting spot in the coach’s plans. With consistency, intensity, and smart positioning, he has become a reliable option on defense.
Fotis Kitsos is another standout. The 22-year-old left-back has secured his spot as the first choice in his position, proving he deserves the trust of the coaching staff. Where he played a minor role last year, he now shows maturity and stability, making a big impact on the game.
We should also highlight Angelos Neophytou. The 20-year-old forward is clearly growing in his role. From being a player with limited chances last year, he has become an active and valuable member of the team this season, showing improved stats and making his presence felt every time he plays. His progress is clear, and his potential looks bright.
Semedo could also fit into this group as he’s having a fantastic season. However, he’s already proven his worth by being named MVP of the championship two years ago. Last year, he performed at more average levels but remained productive.
