Through words filled with memory, love, and pain, Koulis Nikolaou bid farewell to his brother Niko, who passed away, plunging their family into mourning. The sad news was announced by the actor himself in a touching post on Facebook.
In his farewell message, Koulis Nikolaou reflects on their childhood days at their family home in Laya, unfolding images of a life tied to work, family, and silent dignity. He mentions their early experiences in construction, moments with children and grandchildren, and his brother’s character, which stood out for its pride and strength that sought no validation.
“My brother Niko, from a crack in memory I look back at those years, at our home in Laya. I was a baby, you were a teenager, the eldest of the siblings. I see you alive bringing your Kostantia with Voxol. You both wore the same cream jeans — as if you had coordinated with time.
I see you, brother, every Saturday taking us to work in construction, teaching us life with your hands, without many words. And later in Lakatamia, I see you on the veranda with your daughter Maria, one of our father’s first grandchildren, and later with our Giota. I see you alive, brother, with the pride that characterized you and the silent strength that sought no recognition. And suddenly you leave… just like that, to be the first to go among ten siblings.
