There’s a lot of buzz about Zakaria Savo, according to Swedish media.

“AE Limassol is really happy with Savo and wants to keep him,” said Djurgården’s sports director, Bosse Andersson, in an interview with FotbollDirekt.

Djurgården paid around 12 million Swedish kronor to bring him in from Aris, showing they had high hopes for him. But things didn’t go as planned in Sweden.

After returning to Cyprus and joining a new team, he got more chances, started scoring often, and found his confidence again.

So far, he has netted 5 goals in 7 matches for AE Limassol in the Cypriot league. This has caught the attention of other clubs ahead of the next transfer window.

Andersson shared: “I’m really happy for him, and it shows we made the right choice together.”

As for why things didn’t work out at Djurgården, he mentioned it was about trust and needing more playing time and a steady role on the team.

Right now, there’s no set purchase clause with the Cypriot team. However, FotbollDirekt reports that since last summer, teams from the Arab world, Greece, and Israel have shown interest in Savo. So, everything is still up in the air.
