Daniel Paroutis scored his first goal in the last moments of last night’s match against ENP at ‘Tasos Markou’. Thapelo Maseko also found the net in the ‘professional’ win (0-2).
This wasn’t Maseko’s first goal for AEL. He scored the winning goal a few weeks ago in a cup match against Omonia in Nicosia.
The blue and yellows did what they needed to do and are now focused on tomorrow’s big derby. They hope (for ranking reasons) that APOEL loses.
Next Saturday, they will host Pablo Garcia’s team in Limassol. If they win (and Omonia loses), they will move ahead of them (having the tie-break advantage).
AEL’s coach probably won’t fully enjoy the carnival festivities tomorrow. He is likely to watch the Nicosia derby in the afternoon, maybe even attending it live at GSP.
