It’s not something you see every day, but it happened at the Alphamega Stadium. Apollon got two penalties in the same game, a rare event that hasn’t occurred in over four years.
The last time this happened for the Limassol team was on November 5, 2021. They beat Doxa Katokopias 3-0 at home. This match took place at Tsirio Stadium during the 9th round of the championship. Dabo earned two penalties, which Zrandi (64′) and Hamas (76′) scored.
Now, in another home game, Apollon won two penalties in one half again. This time, different players took the shots: Brandon Thomas at the 10th minute and Garry Rodrigues at the 45+1 minute. They secured a 2-1 win in the Sunday derby against APOEL for the 18th round of the Cyprus League by Stoiximan.
