The recent New Year’s cake cutting for Aris veterans at the cultural center ‘Panos Solomonidis’ highlighted some interesting topics.

This happened during a time when several players left the Limassol team…

With the team’s executive director, Pavel Gogknidze, present, some veterans asked him about these departures.

About Kvilitaia, he said they decided to end his contract early because it was too ‘heavy’ financially. Plus, they have four other central forwards. He kindly mentioned that the Georgian international didn’t meet expectations.

For one of Aris’s fan favorites, Michlali Mayambela, the director confirmed recent rumors. They offered to renew his contract, but they couldn’t reach an agreement.

He explained that ‘given that we have some young players for the attack wings, we decided to end cooperation with Michlali.’

Regarding their latest move this January, they mentioned they are looking to get a central midfielder, without specifically mentioning Kastanos.

It’s expected that more veteran players will leave during the summer. An even bigger ‘facelift’ in team staffing is on the way.

Gogknidze and Kostas Papadopoulos clarified that there is no issue with Belarusian Nik leaving Aris. He has been the owner-manager of the team for the past five years.
