At Aris, it’s clear they will lose some players before the Africa Cup. These players must leave by mid-month. The matches kick off on December 21, with the final set for January 18, 2026.
The national team of Kalulu from the Democratic Republic of Congo has already qualified for the finals. Three other players are likely to leave: Yago with Burkina Faso, Musunda with Gabon, and Buran with Comoros.
Mihlali Mayambela was not called up for South Africa’s team, and Aris probably isn’t too disappointed about that.
Artem Ratskov will make special plans while the players are away for the African tournament.
A few days ago, they announced the signing of 18-year-old Cameroonian midfielder Akaba. Also, 27-year-old Ergas Moreno, who joined in the summer, suffered a cruciate ligament injury three months ago. This means he won’t be part of the team’s vaccination soon. The Greens will need to bring in new players in January, not just to replace those going to the Africa Cup finals.
