Andreas Athanasios stood out in the game against AEL, helping secure the win at ‘Alphamega’. He will join Apollon next summer.
In a recent podcast (Protathlima), Alexis Garpozis said the 21-year-old winger impressed him during Akritas’ summer friendlies.
“He had amazing numbers in the fitness tests and did really well in the friendlies. I was surprised when Akritas’ general manager, Phytos Kyriakou, showed me the players’ contracts and I saw how low his contract amount was.”
The former coach of Akritas noted he was surprised Athanasios hadn’t played at a higher level before.
However, he mentioned that Athanasios isn’t fully ready for a big team yet. He needs more development and must work even harder himself.
