Giorgos Faidonos was a young coach who made a big impact on Cypriot basketball. He was known for his competitive wins and, more importantly, for how he inspired young talent. He spent time and effort helping kids realize their potential, teaching them discipline and a love for the game.
He started his career at APOEL with the women’s U12–U14 teams in the 2019–2020 season. This year, he took over the men’s U18 team, continuing to support young athletes at every stage, encouraging them to grow and believe in themselves.
His sudden and early passing brought sadness to the Cypriot basketball community. Even though he was young, his dedication, values, and love for kids and basketball created a lasting legacy that will live on in the courts and in the hearts of everyone who knew him.
