An improvised explosive device was detonated in the early hours under the car of a 45-year-old woman in the Agios Spyridonas area of Limassol, causing a fire and extensive damage.
Police were notified at 04:20. Officers and members of the Limassol Criminal Investigation Department rushed to the scene, where they determined a low-power IED had been placed beneath the vehicle.
The ensuing fire partially damaged both the woman’s car and a second vehicle belonging to a relative, which was parked nearby.
Investigations at the scene are ongoing. No injuries have been reported so far.
