A serious road accident happened recently in the Unrecognized Republic of Northern Cyprus. It took place on the main Famagusta – Nicosia road near the ‘Halkbank’ roundabout. A bus lost control and ended up in a nearby field.
Turkish Cypriot media reports that the bus lost control while heading west. It first hit the median barrier, then crossed the roundabout uncontrollably. After that, it struck a stone wall on the left side of the road and ended up in a field about 6 meters deep.
The driver and a passenger were hurt in the accident. They were quickly taken to the ‘state’ hospital ‘Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu’ for first aid. Both are still hospitalized, and authorities are looking into what caused the incident.
