Bus drivers are protesting today with a two-hour work stoppage and a demonstration in Nicosia.
The protest is about problems caused by the photo enforcement system. The unions say it impacts passenger transport safety.
They point out that buses can’t stop suddenly without putting passengers at risk, especially those standing or seated without seatbelts.
Even though they suggested tech solutions like traffic light warning systems, the unions say there has been no response from the authorities.
The organizations apologize for any inconvenience and stress that their goal is to improve road safety.
