Weak high pressure will affect the area until Friday. But starting Saturday, low pressure will take over, leading to more unstable weather.

Today, on Christmas Eve, expect partly cloudy skies with some thickening clouds. Isolated showers are likely, especially in the afternoon. In the higher mountains of Troodos, there may be sleet or snow. Winds will come from the northeast to southeast, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to slightly rough. Temperatures will reach around 19 degrees inland, 21 degrees on the coast, and 9 degrees in the higher mountains.

Tonight, the weather will stay partly cloudy with a chance of isolated showers, mainly along the coast. Winds will be light at about 3 Beaufort, and the sea will remain calm to slightly rough. Temperatures will drop to 10 degrees inland, 12 degrees on the coast, and 4 degrees in the higher mountains, where frost may form locally.

On Christmas Day, Thursday, expect some clouds that will quickly increase. Local showers and isolated thunderstorms are likely from noon onwards. Hail may occur during storms. A brief improvement is expected late in the afternoon.

On Friday and Saturday, the weather will be mostly cloudy at times with a chance of isolated showers or thunderstorms mainly after noon. Temperatures are not expected to change much until Saturday, staying slightly above average for this time of year.
