Clouds and Rain Expected, Possible Snow in Troodos

A temporary disturbance is affecting the area, bringing more clouds and local showers.

During the day, some showers are expected in the north and inland. Later, local rain and possible thunderstorms will mainly hit the mountains and southwest. Snow or sleet may fall on the higher peaks of Troodos.

The winds will start off variable, light to moderate, at 3 to 4 Beaufort. In the east, they will blow from the north at 4 to 5 Beaufort. Then, they will shift mainly to northerly to northeasterly at 4 to 5 Beaufort, occasionally reaching up to 6 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly rough and locally rough.

The temperature will reach about 16 degrees inland, 18 degrees on the coast, and around 8 degrees in the higher mountains.

At night, the weather will be mostly clear with some clouds mainly on the eastern and southwestern coasts. Winds will blow from northwest to northeast, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, and locally up to 5 Beaufort in the eastern part of the island. The sea will stay rough.

The temperature will drop to around 5 degrees inland, 7 degrees on the western and northern coasts, about 9 degrees on other coasts, and down to -2 degrees in the higher mountains where frost is expected.

On Sunday, expect mostly clear weather. On Monday afternoon, clouds may bring light rain south of Troodos. On Tuesday, mostly clear skies will prevail with occasional clouds in the mountains and inland.

The temperature will rise slightly on Sunday and then stay close to average until Tuesday.
