The cultural calendar is buzzing with carnival vibes and exciting artistic events. From art shows and book launches to classical music concerts and modern theater, places in Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, and Erimi have plenty to offer for a fun night out.
Visual Arts and Parallel Activities
At 7:30 PM, Gloria Gallery in Nicosia (22762605) opens an exhibition by Giorgos Kotsonis. It features painting, sculpture, and mosaic. The artist blends Western European styles with Byzantine beauty, creating pieces that feel both modern and timeless. The exhibition runs until March 10.
At the Ethnomartyr Museum of Arch. Kyprianos in Strovolos, Kyriakos Iakovidis’s book “Russians and Asia Minor Refugees – Refugees of Two Lost Empires in Cyprus” will be presented at 7 PM.
In Limassol, carnival fun continues! At 7 PM at Pattihio Theater, children’s choirs will sing serenades and carnival songs, joined by many musical groups for a good cause benefiting the Social Grocery.
Then at 8 PM, join the carnival dance “Here Limassol” at Miramare Hotel. At 9 PM, Charoupomylos Lanitis hosts the concert “In the Crazy Carnival,” which is free but requires a reservation through Ticketmaster.
Music
The Cyprus Symphony Orchestra performs in Larnaca at the Municipal Theater G. Lykourgos at 8:30 PM with the concert “PREMIERE 4.” Finnish conductor Kalle Kuusava leads soloist cellist Petros Gospodinov. The program includes works by Sophocleous, Papageorgiou, and Weber.
In Erimi, at the Cyprus Wine Museum at 7 PM, the Cyprus Baroque Trio presents “The Joy of Baroque,” featuring works by Bach, Telemann, and Corelli (25873808).
Theater
The theater scene is lively! At Latsia Theater at 8 PM, catch the comedy “Here We Say SOS” by Giorgos Tsiakkas, directed by Marina Vrondi.
Anemona Theater Latsia continues with “The Sleeping Beauty of Chalepa” by Irene Marantei (Friday–Saturday 8:30 PM, Sunday 7 PM until March 22), touring Limassol, Paphos, and Larnaca.
The comedy “Do You Keep a Secret?” by Andreas Aristotelous is on stage at Melina Mercouri Hall (Friday–Saturday 8 PM, Sunday 5:30 PM until February 28) and will also travel to other cities.
At THOC, two productions are running: Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night” on the Main Stage “Evis Gavriilidis” and Loula Anagnostaki’s “To Those Who Hear Me” on the New Stage “Nikos Charalambous.” Both shows are every Friday and Saturday at 8 PM and Sunday at 6 PM.
