The carnival vibe is in full swing! Cultural spots are buzzing with events featuring classical music, modern theater, and visual arts.
The Gloria Gallery in Nicosia has a new exhibition by Giorgos Kotsonis. It showcases paintings, sculptures, and mosaics from 7:30 p.m. until March 10.
In Strovolos, the Ethnomartyr Archbishop Kyprianos Museum presents Kyriakos Iakovidis’s book “Russians and Asia Minor Refugees – Refugees of Two Lost Empires in Cyprus” at 7 p.m.
In Erimi, the Cyprus Baroque Trio will perform “The Joy of Baroque” at the Cyprus Wine Museum at 7 p.m. Meanwhile, in Larnaca, the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra presents “PREMIERE 4” at the Municipal Theater G. Lykourgos at 8:30 p.m. Petros Gospodinov will play cello, with Kalle Kuusava conducting.
Theater lovers can enjoy the comedy “Here We Say SOS” at Latsia Theater and “Can You Keep a Secret?” at Melina Mercouri Hall. THOC is also presenting two shows: “Twelfth Night” and “To You Who Hear Me.”
“The Sleeping Beauty of Chalepas” is on stage at Anemona Theater Latsia (Fridays and Saturdays at 8:30 p.m., Sundays at 7 p.m. until March 22) and will tour Limassol, Paphos, and Larnaca. At MAP Hotel, Neil LaBute’s monologue “Iphigenia – Millennium Edition,” lasting 45 minutes, is performed on Saturdays at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m., and Sundays at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. until March 8.
Carnival events in Limassol
Tonight at 7 p.m., children’s choirs will perform serenades and carnival songs for charity at Pattichion Theater. This supports Limassol Municipality’s Social Grocery.
At 8 p.m., the first Carnival Dance “Here Limassol” kicks off at Miramare Hotel. Then, at 9 p.m., Charoupomylos Lanitis hosts a concert called “In the Crazy Carnival.” Entry is free, but ticket reservations are available via Ticketmaster.
