The Cypriot academic Dr. Nikos Savvas DL, CEO of the Eastern Education Group, will be honored with the title Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE), one of the highest honors awarded by the United Kingdom for his contributions to education and society.
This distinction recognizes Dr. Savvas’s long-standing leadership in education, the innovations he introduced in his group’s colleges and schools, and his contribution to the development of students and educators in Suffolk and beyond.
In a statement, Dr. Savvas emphasized: This honor belongs to the entire Eastern Education Group and Suffolk. What we have achieved shows that world-class education is not limited to big cities. I am proud of what we have accomplished together.
The official receipt of the OBE will take place in 2026 at Buckingham Palace, marking international recognition of Dr. Savvas’s contributions and the Cypriot diaspora’s impact on the educational sector.
