Today, people across Cyprus celebrate the feast of Epiphany with joy and excitement. The weather is mostly clear, making it a perfect day. Many gather in churches for the Divine Liturgy and the blessing of the waters. In several places, the traditional diving for the Holy Cross will also happen.
Events are taking place in all coastal cities and towns, as well as inland, like Agia Triada Karpasias. There, Bishop Christoforos of Karpasia will lead the Divine Liturgy, followed by the blessing of the waters at Saint Thyrsos cove.
In Paphos, President Nikos Christodoulides will join the official celebration. Archbishop Georgios of Cyprus will lead the Divine Liturgy at Saints Anargyroi Church. After that, a procession with marching bands will go to Paphos Harbor for the water blessing.
In Ayia Napa, Speaker of Parliament Annita Demetriou will attend the Divine Liturgy at Panagia Ayia Napa Church. She will then take part in the water blessing ceremony, followed by an artistic program at the harbor.
In Nicosia, celebrations include a procession to Agios Georgios Athalassas Park Lake. After the water blessing, there will be cultural and traditional events for both kids and adults.
As for the weather, temperatures will reach about 18 degrees inland, 20 degrees on the coast, and 14 degrees in higher mountain areas. Expect light to moderate winds and slightly rough seas.
